Crook has also launched a campaign website, wherein he declared that he is running for city council because he wants to see a “new, affordable Vancouver that breeds inclusiveness and diversity, rather than division and anger”.

“Reducing barriers to providing the right type of housing for Vancouver residents of all backgrounds and income levels is how we begin,” according to Crook.

Crook’s main issues are affordable housing, better transit, and more efficient city services.

In a manifesto titled Let’s Fix Vancouver, Crook said that the “city is at a crossroads”.

“We can turn inward, fight with each other, and let recent partisan squabbles sink our progress, or we can look outward and see the potential we have to fix our homelessness and housing crisis,” Crook wrote. “The potential that springs from the values that hold us together: fairness, diversity, sustainability, safety and caring for those in need.”
